Embracing Imperfection.

Judy and I had this conversation while walking around Long Beach the other day. Perfectionism paralyses our creativity. Creativity in my opinion is sloppy, messy, haphazard. It takes the artist, writer, orator, or other creative individual to shape, organize, and make something great from a big giant mess of ideas.

I tend to paralyze myself not with final product perfectionism but with the perfect time. I have a hard time sitting down and writing because I’m always waiting for the right time, the right mood, the right weather, the right desk, the right cup of coffee. I need to start forcing myself to write everywhere and anytime.
